I grew up on a farm as one of three girls, where hard work was simply part of life. From feeding

livestock to working in my parents’ butchery and abattoir, manual labour was part of our

everyday routine. That work ethic carried through into adulthood.

At 18, I began a plumbing and heating apprenticeship and went on to spend 17 years in the

construction industry. I eventually moved into the office as a mechanical estimator, pricing

complex building projects like hospitals and schools. I’ve always been proud of the career I

built—it took dedication, focus, and resilience in a male-dominated industry.

But everything changed when I became a mum.

When my daughter Amara was born in October 2023, I felt a shift I didn’t expect. I loved my

work, but I realised I loved something more—being there for her. I didn’t want to put her in

nursery full-time and only to have a couple of hours with her in the evenings (and this is just

food, bath, and bed). I wanted to be present in her life, every day—not just for the milestones,

but for the little things too. My biggest driving force was that I wanted to be the person she

looked to for comfort and not somebody else.

So I began researching how to build a sustainable online income. I wasn’t even sure what I was

looking for I just knew it had to be real, long-term, and flexible (not a passing trend). That’s

when I found the online education platform. Something about it felt right, and in May 2024, I

began building my own online business.

It hasn’t been easy, and I’m still working some days in my old job while I build my online

business. But the results I have already seen have been transformative.

My online business means freedom. It means family first. It means building a life we don’t need

to escape from.

I’m building something real and lasting not just for me, but for our future. And I wouldn't trade

this path for anything.’
